Up and coming at Empower Martial Arts
Graduations
Our next Graduations will kick off Monday 7th August and run in every class until the Saturday 12th August.
We will run an extra week of Graduations for anyone missing the first week due to it being in the middle of summer holidays.
Please make sure Graduation forms are handed in before this week as we want to put all our attention on the Graduations that week and not at the desk discussing forms. (If the Graduation forms are handed in on Graduation Day the student will not Graduate that day, they will do it the next Graduation Day unless this is the Saturday and then it will be too late!)
Also note that no Progress Checks will be done on Graduation week. All Stripes must be earned before the Graduation week begins.
All students must have trained in at least 14 classes before the Graduation week begins. Please don’t aim for 14 classes…. 14 in then absolute minimum. There are 20 allocated classes and catch-up classes available so 20 is the number to aim for.
Brown Belt White Stripes
Brown Belt White Stripes will have their Progress Check on Saturday 12th August starting from 1pm and aim to finish for 2.45pm.

New Friday Classes
From September 1st we will be adding an Advanced Kids / Family class at 4.15pm and an Empower Ninjas class at 5.15pm.
If you would like to move one of your allocated classes to the Fridays from September please speak to an instructor.

Charity events at Empower Martial Arts
“Rise of the Machines”
Assistant Instructor, 5th Degree Black Belt and our very own longest running student Dave “The Machine” Dancer is putting on a very special charity event.
This is a fun family fitness event to help a family with a 1 year old named Summer diagnosed with Neroblastoma cancer. The family have had to sacrifice working commitments to spend all their time at the city hospital. This means there are dangers they might lose their home.
Dave is trying to help the family pay bills so they can focus their time and energy to their daughter as everyone would while she goes through chemotherapy amongst other treatments and assessment’s.
The event will start at 10.30amd and run until 12noon.
Everyone’s welcome, family members and friends. You don’t have to take part you can just support and brig the energy.
There will be a bucket on the day and he has a GoFundMe page http://gofundme/389c9cee
See you at the Dojo.
Healthy tips for your body and you mind
Summer is upon us.. LETS GO!
This may be the hardest time of the year to train with the hotter, busier life activities and holidays.
To beat the heat make sure your are hydrated throughout the day. Try starting your day with a pint of water. gives you a winner start and replaces what you lose through the night.
Add more fruit and vegetables to your diet as they contain more water.
Always drink an extra litre for evert training session and another one for days spent in the heat.
Plan ahead with classes. Make the classes up earlier so you are covered for the days where opportunities arise… which you definitely don’t wan to miss out on.
Most importantly remember that there is only 1 summer a year and even less time available for most to get away and have a well earned break. Make the most of these opportunities and live life!
Oh, and wear sun tan lotion.
